Tired. Unmotivated. Lazy in the gym. Bored with workouts.
These are the signs. The signs I’m being too stringent in my regimen and need to shake things up. Sometimes you need a refeed day, a cheat day, or an indulgence. I’m already tired of winter, so I’m erring on the side of indulgence these days.
Often times, I hit the weights hard and then have a post workout snack of Greek yogurt or cottage cheese. However, the indulgence bug wants something a little more desserty.

My favorite post workout concoction lately? I let a scoop of the Yo2 soften up and mix a scoop of protein powder in. Then I pop it back in the freezer until I’m done lifting. Not only is my “protein shake” more flavorful, but eating it frozen with a spoon can also be more satisfying.

So far, my favorite is the raspberry cheesecake. It really has cream cheese in it instead of artificial flavors. Although, for my post workout protein concoction, I really like the salty caramel cookie crunch. A strict fitness regimen can really bring on the blahs at this time of year, so a little indulgence keeps things fresh. Plus, frozen yogurt is easy to fit into those macros after an intense deadlifting session!
